Combine the best of both worlds: relaxation and adventure! Join Trilogy on the perfect excursion that leaves room for you to fit more into your day. Conveniently depart from Lahaina Harbor and enjoy assorted tropical fruit as we set sail to Maui’s mother reef “Olowalu”*. This massive reef south of Lahaina is over 1,000 acres in size and has corals over 1500 years old. Olowalu is special for many reasons, most notably for its Turtle cleaning station and its mass production of coral polyps; Snorkeling Olowalu is some of the very best on Maui! After working up an appetite you are served a BBQ chicken lunch— dine at leisure and relax out in the sun as your Crew serves you cold drinks. Capacity is limited in order to give everyone plenty of space for lounging and personalized attention throughout the trip. For an added thrill, ask about our SNUBA® upgrade which is available for ages 8+. *If weather prevents us from exploring Olowalu, we will choose the next best location.
Fun Fact: Reefs begin when a polyp attaches itself to a rock on the sea floor, then divides, or buds, into thousands of clones. The polyps connect to one another, creating a colony that acts as a single organism. As colonies grow over hundreds and thousands of years, they join with other colonies and become reefs! Olowalu is called the “mother reef” because it’s responsible for starting many of the reefs on Maui, Molokai, Lana’i, & Kaho’olawe.
